Summary

Meijer is recalling about 22,200 Wave Zone one-piece zip-back swimsuits for newborns, infants, and toddlers because the snaps on the bottom can detach. There have been 11 reports of snaps detaching from the garments, though no injuries have been reported. These swimsuits were sold at Meijer and H-E-B stores between January 2017 and July 2017. Consumers should immediately stop using these swimsuits and return them to any Meijer store for a full refund.

Risk

The metal snaps on the bottom of the swimsuit can come off during use or washing, creating small parts that a child can choke on if they put them in their mouth.

What You Should Do

  1. Check the inner collar of the swimsuit for the 'Wave Zone' brand name and 'Made in China' print.
  2. Locate the tracking number 'NOV 2016 021-14328' on the sewn-in label on the inner side seam to confirm your product is affected.
  3. Verify if your swimsuit matches one of the four affected designs: blue/gray with a shark, white/navy stripes with anchors, pink/teal with a strawberry, or pink-sleeved with a multi-colored fish pattern.
  4. Immediately stop using the recalled swimsuits and keep them out of reach of children.
  5. Return the swimsuit to the customer service desk at any Meijer store to receive a full refund.
  6. For more information, contact Meijer at 800-927-8699 anytime or visit www.meijer.com and click on 'Product Recalls' at the bottom of the page.
  7. For additional questions, call the CPSC Hotline at 800-638-2772.
