Summary

Approximately 2,569 units of Vanilla Flavor Imitation (White) and Chocolate Flavor imitation extracts have been recalled because they contain undeclared egg. The Vanilla flavor additionally contains undeclared food colorings including Yellow #5, Red #40, and Blue #1. These products were distributed in 1-gallon (128 fl. oz.) and 1-quart containers with production dates ranging from September 2020 through September 2021. Consumers who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to eggs run the risk of a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products.

Risk

The products contain egg, a known allergen, and various food dyes that are not listed on the ingredient label. This poses a significant health risk to individuals with egg allergies or sensitivities to specific food colorings, as consumption can trigger an immediate and potentially severe allergic response.
