Summary

Manhattan Toy is recalling approximately 14,400 Winkel™ Colorburst teething and activity toys because the colored plastic tubes can become brittle and break into small pieces. There have been four reports of the plastic tubes breaking, which creates small parts that infants could choke on. The toys consist of multi-color plastic tubing inserted into a central white and blue striped plastic cube containing rattle beads. Consumers should immediately take these toys away from infants and return them for a full refund.

Risk

The plastic tubing on the toy can become brittle over time and break apart. If the tubing breaks, it creates small plastic fragments that pose a serious choking hazard to infants using the teething toy.

What You Should Do

  1. Check the center of the plastic cube or the hang-tag/product packaging for the following lot codes: 206880 DH, 206880 EH, 206880 HH, or 206871 EH.
  2. If your toy matches one of the affected lot codes, immediately take it away from infants and stop using it.
  3. Return the recalled toy to the store where it was purchased for a full refund.
  4. Alternatively, contact Manhattan Toy at 800-541-1345 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. CT Monday through Thursday and 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. CT Fridays, or online at www.manhattantoy.com and click on 'Recalls' at the bottom of the page to arrange for a full refund.
