Makita U.S.A. is recalling approximately 62,927 Professional Cordless Grease Guns (models XPG01S1, XPG01SR1, and XPG01Z) and Grease Gun Hoses (models 191A79-9, 191A80-4, 191W59-7, and 191W58-9). The grease gun's flexible hose can develop a hole while in use, which allows pressurized grease to spray out and cause injury. There have been five reports worldwide of hose failure resulting in laceration injuries. These products were sold nationwide at hardware and home improvement stores, as well as online, between June 2020 and January 2025. Makita is offering a free replacement hose to all affected owners.
