Summary

Forest River, Inc. is recalling 6,966 of its 2019-2024 Georgetown and FR3 Class A motorhomes because the mounting brackets for the liquid petroleum gas (LPG) tank can break. If these brackets fail, the LPG tank could become dislodged from the vehicle and suffer damage while in transit. Owners of these motorhomes should contact a Forest River dealer to arrange for a free inspection and repair of the brackets and welds.

Risk

A dislodged or damaged LPG tank can leak fuel, which significantly increases the risk of a fire or explosion if it encounters an ignition source.

What You Should Do

  1. Check if your vehicle is a 2019-2024 Forest River Georgetown or FR3 Class A motorhome.
  2. Verify your vehicle is affected by checking its VIN at www.nhtsa.gov/recalls or by contacting Forest River Customer Service at 1-574-206-7600 (Reference Recall Number 68-1736).
  3. Schedule an appointment with an authorized Forest River dealer to have the LPG tank mounting brackets and welds inspected and replaced if necessary.
  4. Complete the repair free of charge; Forest River previously mailed owner notification letters regarding this issue on March 11, 2024.
  5. Contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153) for additional information or questions.
