Summary

Forest River is recalling 284 motorhomes, including 2022-2023 Coachmen Freelander, Leprechaun, and 2023 Coachmen Prism models. The auxiliary LPG quick disconnect component may not have been tightened properly during manufacturing, which can lead to a propane gas leak. Dealers will inspect and tighten the connection as needed for free to ensure the vehicle is safe.

Risk

An improperly tightened gas connection can allow flammable LPG (propane) to leak. If this gas encounters an ignition source, it can cause a fire.

What You Should Do

  1. Check your vehicle's make, model, and year to see if it is one of the 284 affected units: 2022-2023 Coachmen Freelander, 2022-2023 Coachmen Leprechaun, or 2023 Coachmen Prism motorhomes.
  2. Contact a Forest River dealer to schedule a free inspection and tightening of the auxiliary LPG quick disconnect.
  3. If you have questions, contact Forest River customer service at 1-574-825-8602 and reference recall number 210-1556.
  4. For additional information, contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153) or visit www.nhtsa.gov.
