Summary

Ford Motor Company is recalling 2 units of the 2025 Bronco because a nut on the front upper control arm ball joint may be missing or loose. This defect can cause the control arm to detach from the wheel assembly, resulting in a sudden loss of steering. To fix this, dealers will inspect the fastener and either tighten it or replace the entire ball joint and knuckle assembly at no cost to the owner.

Risk

If the control arm detaches, the driver will lose steering control of the vehicle, which significantly increases the risk of a crash. Because of this critical safety risk, owners are advised to stop driving their vehicles immediately until the repair has been performed.

What You Should Do

  1. Stop driving this vehicle immediately and park it until the recall repair is completed.
  2. The recalled vehicles are 2 units of the 2025 Ford Bronco. Owners are advised that Ford will mail official notification letters in April 2025.
  3. Contact an authorized Ford dealer immediately to arrange for a free inspection. Service technicians will verify that the ball joint fastener is tightened properly or replace the ball joint and knuckle assembly if the part is loose or missing.
  4. Owners may contact Ford Customer Service at 1-866-436-7332 and reference recall number 25S40.
  5. For additional information, contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153) or visit www.nhtsa.gov/recalls.
