Summary

Ford Motor Company is recalling approximately 312,120 of its 2025 model year vehicles, including the Ford F-150, Expedition, Bronco, Ranger, and Lincoln Navigator. The Electronic Brake Booster (EBB) module may malfunction while the vehicle is being driven or while the driver is using advanced driver assistance features, leading to a sudden loss of power brake assistance. Ford will provide a free software update for the brake module, which can be completed at a dealership or via an over-the-air update.

Risk

A loss of power brake assist can significantly increase the distance required to stop the vehicle and may prevent the vehicle from braking as expected when using driver assistance features, both of which increase the risk of a crash.

What You Should Do

  1. This recall involves 2025 Ford F-150, Expedition, Bronco, and Ranger vehicles, as well as 2025 Lincoln Navigator SUVs, that may experience a malfunction in the Electronic Brake Booster module.
  2. Check your vehicle's status by visiting the Ford or Lincoln owner website and entering your 17-character Vehicle Identification Number (VIN).
  3. Ensure your vehicle is set to receive automatic software updates, as Ford will provide the Electronic Brake Booster software fix through an over-the-air (OTA) update.
  4. Alternatively, you may contact any Ford or Lincoln dealer to schedule a free appointment to have the software update performed manually at the dealership.
