Isuzu Motors Limited: Gas-Powered Trucks Recalled for Engine Power Loss and Electrical Corrosion

Summary

Isuzu is recalling approximately 19,479 commercial gas-powered trucks, including various Isuzu NPR, NQR, NRR models and Chevrolet LCF 3500 through 5500 series from model years 2023 and 2024. These vehicles may have an incorrectly sized wire seal in the chassis harness that allows water to enter the engine ignition coil pack fuse holders. This water intrusion can cause the fuses to corrode, leading to engine misfires and a sudden loss of power while driving. Authorized dealers will replace both engine ignition coil pack fuse holder assemblies free of charge to resolve the issue.

Risk

If the ignition coil pack fuses corrode, the engine can suddenly lose power or misfire during operation. This unexpected loss of engine power while the vehicle is in motion increases the risk of a crash.

What You Should Do

  1. Identify if your vehicle is affected by checking your registration or VIN for the following models: 2023-2024 Isuzu NPR Gas, NPR HD Gas, Chevrolet LCF 3500HG, Chevrolet LCF 4500HG; and 2024 Isuzu NQR Gas, NRR Gas, Chevrolet LCF 5500HG, and Chevrolet LCF 5500XG.
  2. Contact an authorized Isuzu or Chevrolet commercial vehicle dealer to schedule a free replacement of both engine ignition coil pack fuse holder assemblies.
