Summary

Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC is recalling 143,551 vehicles across several 2021-2023 model lines, including C-Class, E-Class, S-Class, CLS, SL, GT, GLC, GLE, GLS, and G-Class models. The fuel pump in these vehicles may shut down unexpectedly while driving, causing the engine to stall. This defect results in a sudden loss of drive power, which can occur without warning. Dealers will replace the fuel pump in affected vehicles free of charge to resolve the issue.

Risk

If the fuel pump fails, the vehicle will experience a sudden loss of drive power while in motion. This unexpected stalling significantly increases the risk of a crash, especially when driving at highway speeds or in heavy traffic.
