Summary

Hyundai Motor America is recalling approximately 31,440 Genesis vehicles including 2022-2023 GV70, GV80, G80, and G90 models. The fuel pump in these vehicles may fail, which can cause the engine to stop suddenly while driving. This recall is an expansion of a previous recall (23V-630) and owners should visit a dealer for a free inspection and replacement of the fuel pump assembly.

Risk

A sudden failure of the fuel pump can lead to a complete loss of drive power while the vehicle is in motion. This unexpected stalling increases the risk of a crash, particularly at high speeds or in heavy traffic.

What You Should Do

  1. Confirm if your vehicle is affected by checking your VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) on the NHTSA website or by contacting your local Genesis dealer.
  2. If your vehicle is a 2022-2023 Genesis GV70, GV80, G80, or G90, contact a Genesis/Hyundai dealer to schedule a free inspection and replacement of the fuel pump assembly.
  3. Owners may contact Hyundai customer service at 1-855-371-9460 and reference recall number 022G.
  4. For additional questions or to check your vehicle's status, call the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153) or visit www.nhtsa.gov.
