Summary

Kia America, Inc. is recalling 62,872 of its 2022-2024 EV6 electric vehicles. The Integrated Charging Control Unit (ICCU) in these vehicles may become damaged, causing the 12-volt battery to stop charging and resulting in a total loss of drive power. Dealers will update the ICCU software and, if necessary, replace the ICCU and its fuse free of charge.

Risk

A sudden loss of drive power while driving can prevent the vehicle from maintaining speed or accelerating, significantly increasing the risk of a crash. This recall replaces a previous repair (24V-200), meaning vehicles that were already serviced under the old recall must be brought back for this new remedy.

What You Should Do

  1. Check your vehicle's VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls or contact a Kia dealer to confirm if your 2022-2024 EV6 is affected by recall SC327.
  2. Schedule an appointment with an authorized Kia dealer for the free remedy, even if your vehicle was previously repaired under recall 24V-200.
  3. Follow the official remedy: Dealers will inspect and replace the ICCU and its fuse, as necessary. In addition, dealers will update the ICCU software. All repairs will be performed free of charge.
  4. If you have further questions, contact Kia customer service at 1-800-333-4542 (refer to Kia recall number SC327).
  5. For additional assistance, contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153) or visit nhtsa.gov.
