Summary

Zero Motorcycles Inc. is recalling approximately 319 of its 2023-2024 DSR/X, 2024 DS, DSR, and DSRP motorcycles. The recall is due to improperly routed key switch signal wires that may break over time. If these wires break, the motorcycle will lose drive power while in motion, which can lead to a crash. Dealers will provide a free firmware update, which may also be available to owners as an over-the-air (OTA) update.

Risk

A break in the key switch signal wires causes an immediate loss of power to the motor. If this happens while the motorcycle is being ridden, the rider may lose control or be unable to maintain speed, significantly increasing the risk of a collision.

What You Should Do

  1. This recall affects 2023-2024 Zero DSR/X and 2024 Zero DS, DSR, and DSRP motorcycles.
  2. Update your motorcycle's firmware to prevent unexpected power loss; this repair is free of charge and can be completed by an authorized dealer or via an over-the-air (OTA) update.
