Summary

Lion Electric Company is recalling 7 of its 2024-2025 LionC school buses because certain brake system components may have been installed incorrectly. Specifically, the anti-lock brake system (ABS) pneumatic valve connections and rear wheel speed sensors may be reversed or misconfigured. Lion Electric will correct these brake connections for all affected vehicles free of charge.

Risk

If the ABS valves and sensors are installed incorrectly, the wheels can lock up or the driver may lose control of the vehicle during emergency braking. This significantly increases the risk of a crash.

  1. Identify if your vehicle is affected by checking for a 2024-2025 LionC School Bus in your fleet.
  2. Contact Lion Electric customer service at 1-855-546-6706 to verify your vehicle's identification number (VIN) and schedule a free repair. Mention Lion Electric's recall number R2023-008.
  3. Bring the vehicle to an authorized service center where Lion Electric will correct the ABS pneumatic valve connections and wheel speed sensor installations at no cost to you.
