Summary

Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain MOPAR Brake Hydraulic Control Units (HCU) sold as service parts under part numbers 68195569AA and 68143491AA. These units may fail after installation, causing the vehicle's critical safety systems including anti-lock brakes (ABS), electronic stability control (ESC), and traction control to become inoperable. Owners will receive a free repair or replacement once parts are available in mid-2026.

Risk

A failure in the hydraulic control unit can cause the loss of ABS, ESC, and traction control, significantly reducing the driver's ability to maintain vehicle control during braking or slippery conditions, which increases the risk of a crash.

What You Should Do

  1. Check your vehicle service records or contact your local dealer to determine if a MOPAR Brake Hydraulic Control Unit with part number 68195569AA or 68143491AA was recently installed in your vehicle.
  2. Watch for warning lights on your dashboard related to the ABS, ESC, or Traction Control systems; if these illuminate, contact a Chrysler/FCA dealer immediately.
  3. Dealers will repurchase or replace the Brake HCU or replace the HCU motor, free of charge.
  4. Contact FCA customer service at 1-800-853-1403 regarding recall C7B if you have questions about the interim notification mailed in January 2025 or the final remedy expected in July 2026.
