Summary

Blue Bird Body Company is recalling approximately 2,356 of its 2019-2027 Vision and All American school buses due to a loose 12-volt cable. This cable may disconnect while the bus is in use, causing a sudden loss of electrical systems including steering assist and brake assist. Authorized dealers will inspect the cable, properly tighten it, and add a torque stripe to prevent future loosening at no cost to owners.

Risk

A disconnected 12-volt cable can cause an immediate loss of drive power, steering assist, brake assist, or instrument panel displays. Any of these failures while the vehicle is in motion significantly increases the risk of a crash.

What You Should Do

  1. The recalled vehicles are 2019-2027 Blue Bird Vision and All American school buses with a potentially loose 12-volt electrical cable.
  2. Contact an authorized Blue Bird dealer to schedule a free service appointment to have the 12-volt cable inspected, tightened, and marked with a torque stripe.
  3. Owners may contact Blue Bird customer service directly at 1-478-822-2242 for additional information regarding this recall.
