Summary

Altec Industries is recalling approximately 3,824 L Series and LR Series aerial devices manufactured between 1999 and 2022. These vehicles may have a hydraulic hose installed where metallic tubing was required, which can lead to hose damage and the failure of the load-holding feature. Altec will inspect affected units and replace improper hoses with specified metallic tubing free of charge.

Risk

If the load-holding feature fails, the platform or load can move unexpectedly. This unintended movement poses a serious risk of injury to operators or bystanders near the equipment.

What You Should Do

  1. Check your equipment records to determine if you own a 1999-2022 Altec L Series or LR Series aerial device.
  2. Contact Altec Industries customer service at 1-877-462-5832 to schedule a free inspection and repair. Reference Altec recall number CSN 3090.
  3. During the inspection, Altec technicians will check for the presence of a hydraulic hose between the cylinder port and load-holding valve and replace it with metallic tubing if necessary.
