Summary

Lion Force is recalling about 2,400 boys' black hooded puffer coats sold exclusively at Burlington Coat Factory. These 100% nylon jackets feature a drawstring through the zip-off hood, which can pose a dangerous strangulation hazard to children. The recalled coats were sold in boys' sizes 4 through 12 between November 2010 and September 2013 for approximately $30. While no injuries have been reported, consumers should act immediately to remove the hazard.

Risk

The drawstring in the hood of the jacket can become snagged or caught on objects, posing a risk of strangulation to the child wearing the coat.

What You Should Do

  1. Identify your product by checking for the 'Lion Force' brand name printed on the upper left side of the front and on the sewn-in tag at the back of the neck.
  2. Confirm the coat is black with dark gray drawstrings, has elasticized wrist cuffs and waistband, and features two front Velcro-flap pockets.
  3. Check the size tag to see if it is between boys' sizes 4 and 12.
  4. Immediately remove the drawstrings from the hood of the garment to eliminate the strangulation hazard.
  5. Alternatively, you may return the coat to Lion Force Inc. for a full refund.
  6. Contact Lion Force toll-free at 855-441-5466, available 24 hours a day, every day for more information.
  7. For additional questions, call the CPSC Hotline at 800-638-2772.
