Summary

Hiniker Company is recalling approximately 1,016 snowplows across several series including the 700, 2000, 6000, 7000, 8000, 9000, and 9500 models equipped with part number HTBX 38828015. The motherboard in these units can overheat, leading to a complete failure of the snowplow's controls and external lighting. Hiniker is offering a free motherboard replacement to all affected owners to ensure the equipment meets federal safety standards for visibility.

Risk

If the motherboard overheats and the snowplow lights fail, the vehicle's visibility to other drivers is significantly reduced during night or snow conditions, which increases the risk of a motor vehicle crash.

What You Should Do

  1. Identify if your snowplow is affected by checking the series and part number. This recall involves Hiniker Series 700, 2000, 6000, 7000, 8000, 9000, and 9500 snowplows using part number HTBX 38828015.
  2. Contact Hiniker Company customer service at 1-507-625-6621 or 1-800-433-5620 to schedule a free replacement of the affected motherboard.
  3. If you received an owner notification letter (mailed starting August 22, 2024), follow the specific instructions provided in the letter to coordinate your repair with an authorized service provider.
