Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) (Stellantis): Ram ProMaster Recalled for Left Turn Signal and Taillight Failure

Summary

Chrysler (Stellantis) is recalling approximately 12,375 model year 2021-2022 Ram ProMaster vehicles because of a faulty wiring harness. A poor electrical connection can cause the left taillight and the left turn signal to stop working, which violates federal safety standards for vehicle lighting. Owners should take their vehicle to a Ram dealer to have the wiring harness inspected and replaced if necessary, free of charge.

Risk

If the left turn signal fails, other drivers will not be notified when you are turning or changing lanes. Additionally, an inoperative left taillight reduces the vehicle's visibility at night or in poor weather, significantly increasing the risk of a rear-end or side-swipe crash.

What You Should Do

  1. Check your vehicle's make, model, and year to see if you own a 2021 or 2022 Ram ProMaster.
  2. Verify if your vehicle is affected by contacting FCA US, LLC customer service at 1-800-853-1403 and referencing recall number 21B.
  3. Schedule a free appointment with an authorized Chrysler or Ram dealer to have the wiring harness inspected and replaced as needed.
  4. For additional information, you can contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153) or visit www.nhtsa.gov.
