Summary

Spartan Fire, LLC is recalling 311 emergency vehicles including certain 2021-2023 and 2025 Spartan Fire Legend, 2007 and 2015-2026 Star Series, and 2019-2020 UST Body models. A handle on the ladder lock assembly may detach, which could allow ground ladders to fall off the vehicle during travel. To address this safety issue, dealers will inspect and replace the ladder lock rod and handle as necessary at no charge to owners.

Risk

If the ladder lock handle or the ladder itself detaches while the vehicle is in motion, it creates a serious road hazard for other drivers, significantly increasing the risk of a crash.
