Summary

Kubota is recalling about 11,500 model year 2013, 2014, and 2015 RTV-X1100C series diesel-powered utility vehicles. Combustible debris can build up and touch the exhaust manifold, causing it to ignite and create a fire hazard. Kubota has received seven reports of debris-related fires, though no injuries have been reported. These orange or camouflage vehicles were sold at authorized Kubota dealers nationwide from October 2013 through October 2015. Owners should stop using the vehicles and contact a dealer for a free inspection and repair.

Risk

Debris such as grass or leaves can accumulate near the engine and touch the hot exhaust manifold, causing the debris to catch fire. This poses a significant fire hazard to the vehicle and occupants, with seven fires already reported.

What You Should Do

  1. Identify if your vehicle is affected by checking the model number 'RTV-X1100C' located on the side of the unit and on the data plate on the back of the cab.
  2. Verify your serial number on the data plate (located between the cab and the bed); affected units have serial numbers ranging from 10001 to 23172.
  3. Immediately stop using the recalled utility vehicle and park it outdoors away from any combustible materials.
  4. Contact an authorized Kubota dealer to schedule a free inspection and free repair. You can find a dealer or get more information by calling Kubota Tractor Corp. toll-free at 800-752-0290 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. PT Monday through Friday.
