Summary

KTM North America is recalling approximately 1,300 model year 2012 and 2013 Enduro motorcycles because the fuel hose can crack or develop holes, leading to fuel leaks. There have been 13 reports of fuel leaks, which can lead to fires or cause the rider to lose control and crash. The recalled motorcycles are orange and black and were sold at authorized dealers nationwide from October 2011 through September 2012 for between $8,500 and $9,600. KTM is offering a free repair to replace the fuel hose.

Risk

The pre-formed fuel hose can develop small holes or cracks during use, allowing fuel to leak onto the motorcycle. This leaking fuel poses a significant fire hazard and increases the risk of a crash for the rider and others.

What You Should Do

  1. Check the rear fender on both sides of the motorcycle, just below the tail end of the seat, for the following model numbers: 2013 250 XC-F, 2013 250 XCF-W, 2013 350 XC-F, 2013 350 XCF-W, 2013 450 XC-F, 2013 450 XC-W, 2013 500 XC-W, or 2012 350 XCF-W.
  2. Immediately stop using the recalled KTM motorcycle.
  3. Contact an authorized KTM dealer to schedule a free repair of the fuel hose.
