Summary

KTM North America is recalling approximately 9,070 motorcycles, including certain 2022-2023 Husqvarna Svartpilen 401, Vitpilen 401, and 2022-2024 KTM 390 Adventure models. Water can enter the electronic throttle control unit, causing it to malfunction and fail. This failure leads to a sudden loss of drive power while the motorcycle is in motion.

Risk

A loss of drive power while riding significantly increases the risk of a crash or injury as the rider may lose control or be struck by other vehicles.

What You Should Do

  1. This recall affects 2022-2023 Husqvarna Svartpilen 401, 2022-2023 Husqvarna Vitpilen 401, and 2022-2024 KTM 390 Adventure motorcycles.
  2. Identify if your motorcycle is affected by visiting www.nhtsa.gov/recalls and entering your 17-digit Vehicle Identification Number (VIN). VINs for these models became searchable in the system on March 31, 2026.
  3. Contact an authorized KTM or Husqvarna dealer to schedule a free inspection and replacement of the electronic throttle control unit.
