Summary

About 13,200 Isla Rae brand Magnetic Wireless Chargers are being recalled because they can explode while in use. These chargers are compatible with magnetic systems and attach to the back of phones to provide power. They were sold in white, pink, and purple at T.J. Maxx and Marshalls stores nationwide for about $15 between June 2024 and November 2025. Consumers should immediately stop using these chargers to avoid potential fire and burn injuries, and register for a full refund.

Risk

The chargers' lithium-ion batteries can overheat and explode during operation, posing a significant risk of starting a fire or causing severe burns to users and property. While no injuries have been reported to date, the defect represents a serious safety hazard.

What You Should Do

  1. Identify your charger by checking for the Isla Rae brand name and model number 'RM5PBM' on the side of the device, located directly below the markings '5000 mAh 3.7V.'
  2. Immediately stop using the recalled charger and disconnect it from any power source or mobile device.
  3. Go to https://www.recallrtr.com/powerbank to register for the recall and receive instructions on how to obtain a full refund.
  4. Dispose of the recalled charger through your local municipal household hazardous waste (HHW) collection center, as lithium-ion batteries should not be thrown in the household trash or standard recycling bins. Contact your local municipality ahead of time to confirm they accept recalled lithium-ion batteries.
