Summary

Interstate Meat Distributors, Inc. is recalling approximately 14,806 pounds of ground beef and pork products that may be contaminated with E. coli O157:H7. The recalled items include fresh ground beef, ground beef chuck, a beef and pork blend, and frozen Brothers Choice Angus beef patties produced on February 10 and 12, 2018. These products were shipped to retail locations in Oregon, Utah, and Washington state.

Risk

The products may contain E. coli O157:H7, a bacterium that can cause severe stomach cramps, bloody diarrhea, and dehydration. In serious cases, particularly in children and the elderly, it can lead to hemolytic uremic syndrome (HUS), a potentially life-threatening type of kidney failure.

  4. Verify the establishment number '965' inside the USDA mark of inspection on the product label.
  5. Return the product to the place of purchase for a full refund, throw it away, or contact Interstate Meat Distributors, Inc. at 503-656-0633 for further instructions.
