Summary

International Motors, LLC is recalling approximately 204 of its 2026-2027 MV vehicles. A software error in the brake Electronic Control Unit (ECU) may prevent the brakes from engaging properly when using adaptive cruise control or the hill hold assist feature. Dealers will provide a free software update to correct the issue and ensure the braking systems function as expected.

Risk

If the automatic braking system fails to activate while using adaptive cruise control or hill hold assist, the vehicle may not slow down or remain stationary as the driver expects, significantly increasing the risk of a crash.

What You Should Do

  1. Contact an International Motors dealer to schedule a free appointment to have your brake ECU software updated.
  2. You can confirm if your specific vehicle is affected by using the VIN search tool on NHTSA.gov beginning April 6, 2026.
  3. If you have additional questions, contact International Motors customer service at 1-800-448-7825 and reference recall number 26501.
  4. Call the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153) or visit www.nhtsa.gov for more information.
