Summary

Interlogix has recalled about 67,000 wireless personal panic devices sold as accessories with professionally installed home security systems. These devices, available as black or white wristbands or necklaces, can fail to communicate with security control panels during an emergency, such as a personal injury. While no injuries have been reported, consumers should immediately contact their security system installer for a free inspection and replacement of faulty units. These devices were sold nationwide by professional installers and distributors from May 2014 through January 2016.

Risk

The panic buttons may fail to activate or send a signal to the security system when pressed. This defect prevents the device from calling for help during a personal emergency or injury, potentially delaying critical medical or security assistance.

What You Should Do

  1. Identify your device by checking the underside for model numbers TX-4200-01-1 (white) or TX-4200-01-2 (black).
  2. If you still have the original packaging, verify the UPC numbers: 7-82136-72342-7 for white devices or 7-82136-72343-4 for black devices.
  3. Immediately contact your professional security system installer or monitoring company to schedule a free inspection of your personal panic device.
  4. If the device fails the inspection, the installer will provide a free replacement panic device.
  5. For more information, contact Interlogix at 800-394-4988 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. PT, Monday through Friday, email questions@interlogix.com, or visit www.interlogix.com and click on Customer Service.
