Summary

Keystone RV Company is recalling 1,978 of its 2024 Hideout and Springdale travel trailers because the propane cylinder holder may have insufficient welds. This defect can cause the propane cylinder to completely detach from the vehicle while in transit. Dealers will replace the holder with a properly welded unit free of charge to resolve the safety issue.

Risk

A detached propane cylinder can fall onto the roadway, becoming a significant road hazard for the towing vehicle and other motorists, which increases the risk of a crash.

What You Should Do

  1. Identify if your travel trailer is affected by checking your model and year: this recall includes 2024 Keystone Hideout (models 175BH, 177RD, 178RB, 179RB, 181BH) and 2024 Keystone Springdale (models 1700FQ, 1760 FQ, 1800BH, 1810BH, 1860SS, 2010BH).
  2. Contact a Keystone RV Company dealer to schedule a free replacement of the propane cylinder holder.
  3. If you have additional questions, contact Keystone customer service at 1-866-425-4369 and refer to recall number 24-451.
  4. You may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153) or visit www.nhtsa.gov for more information.
