Summary

Porsche is recalling 4,777 of its 2023 Taycan electric vehicles, including the 4S, Turbo, GTS, and Cross Turismo variants. The high-voltage batteries in these vehicles may have been manufactured with an insufficient amount of sealant, which can allow liquid to leak into and accumulate inside the battery housing. Dealers will test affected vehicles for leaks and replace the high-voltage battery if necessary, free of charge.

Risk

Liquid leaking into the high-voltage battery can lead to electrical arcing within the system. This creates a significant risk of an electrical fire, which could occur while the vehicle is parked or being driven.

What You Should Do

  2. Contact an authorized Porsche dealer to schedule a free battery leakage test and a potential battery replacement if the seal is found to be insufficient.
  3. You may contact Porsche's customer service at 1-800-767-7243 and reference recall number APB2 for more information.
