Summary

Carparts.com, Inc. is recalling 1,826 MH brand taillights and headlights because they do not illuminate the road or vehicle properly. The affected components include various MH Taillight and Headlight models sold under specific part numbers. These lights fail to meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards for lamps and reflective equipment, which can make it difficult for other drivers to see the vehicle or for the driver to see the road. CarParts.com will provide a full refund to all affected customers.

Risk

If headlights and taillights do not shine brightly enough, other drivers may not be able to see your vehicle in the dark or poor weather, and your own visibility of the road ahead may be reduced, significantly increasing the risk of a crash.

What You Should Do

  1. Check your vehicle's lighting components for MH brand markings and verify the model number against the following affected Taillights: MHD730145, MHD730146, MHG730125, MHG730126, MHH730117, MHH730118, MHJ730143, and MHJ730144.
  2. Check your vehicle's lighting components for MH brand markings and verify the model number against the following affected Headlights: MHK100169, MHK100170, MHN100189, and MHN100190.
  3. Contact Carparts.com customer service at 1-866-529-0412 to arrange for a full refund of the purchase price.
  4. If you received an owner notification letter (mailed around August 26, 2024), follow the specific instructions provided in the letter to claim your refund.
  5. For additional information or questions regarding this recall, contact the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153) or visit www.nhtsa.gov.
