2025-2026 Mack Pioneer Recalled for Inoperative Trailer Lighting

Summary

Mack Trucks, Inc. is recalling approximately 156 of its 2025-2026 Pioneer vehicles because the trailer lights may fail to turn on. An improperly manufactured body control module can cause the trailer's tail lights and turn signals to stop working while towing. Dealers will replace the trailer body input/output module free of charge to resolve the issue.

Risk

If trailer tail lights or turn signals do not illuminate, the vehicle and trailer are less visible to other drivers. This significantly increases the risk of a crash, especially during nighttime driving or while changing lanes.

What You Should Do

  1. This recall affects 2025-2026 Mack Pioneer vehicles equipped with a potentially defective trailer body control module.
  2. Check your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) on the NHTSA website or contact a Mack Trucks dealer to confirm if your specific truck is part of this recall.
  3. Contact an authorized Mack Trucks dealer to schedule a free replacement of the trailer body input/output module.
