Summary

Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing is recalling approximately 94,320 model year 2023-2025 Toyota bZ4X, Lexus RZ, and Subaru Solterra vehicles. A defect in the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system, specifically potential failure of the electrical compressor, can cause the windshield defroster and defogger to stop working. Authorized dealers will update the HVAC control software and inspect or replace the electrical compressor if necessary, free of charge.

Risk

A failed defroster or defogger system can significantly reduce the driver's visibility during cold or humid weather conditions. This loss of visibility increases the risk of a crash.
