Summary

Infantino is recalling about 14,000 Go Forward 4-in-1, Flip Front2back, and Up Close Newborn infant carriers because the buckles can break while in use. These soft-bodied carriers are made of cotton and feature a front padded pouch in black or gray with black straps. They were sold nationwide at Target and other stores, as well as online at Amazon.com, between November and December 2019. Consumers should stop using the carrier immediately and contact the company for a free replacement.

Risk

The buckles on the carrier can break unexpectedly, causing the infant to fall out of the carrier and onto the ground. While no injuries have been reported yet, this defect poses a significant physical injury risk to babies and toddlers.

What You Should Do

  1. Locate the label sewn into the inside of your carrier to find the product name and lot code.
  2. Check if your carrier is one of the affected models: Go Forward 4-in-1 Evolved Ergonomic Carrier (Lot 2018 0619 or 2018 0719), Flip Front2back Carrier (Lot 2018 0719), or Up Close Newborn Carrier (Lot 2018 0719).
  3. Immediately stop using the recalled carrier if the product name and lot code match those listed above.
  4. Contact Infantino at 800-840-4916 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. PT Monday through Friday, or email Recall@infantino.com for instructions on how to receive a free replacement carrier.
  5. You can also visit www.infantino.com and click on 'Recalls' for more information and to initiate the replacement process.
  6. Call the CPSC Hotline at 800-638-2772 if you have additional questions regarding this safety recall.
