Summary

Approximately 194,500 Alstyle infant bodysuits have been recalled because the metal snaps at the crotch can detach from the fabric. This defect creates a serious choking hazard for young children. One incident of a snap detaching has been reported, although no injuries have occurred. The affected short-sleeved cotton bodysuits were sold in sizes 6M, 12M, and 18M at wholesale and screen printers nationwide and online between August 2015 and September 2017. Consumers should immediately stop using these bodysuits and contact Alstyle for a free return and a $10 gift card.

Risk

The snaps at the crotch of the bodysuit can break off or detach. Small detached metal parts pose a choking risk if a young child swallows or inhales them.

What You Should Do

  1. Check the neck label of your infant bodysuit for the brand name 'Alstyle' and the phrase 'Made in Mexico'.
  2. Look for a white label sewn into the left inside seam that has 'CAT - # - J' printed on it.
  3. Verify if the garment is a short-sleeved bodysuit in black, blue, pink, or white, in sizes 6M, 12M, or 18M.
  4. Immediately stop using any affected bodysuits to prevent a choking hazard.
  5. Contact Alstyle toll-free at 877-562-1499 from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. ET Monday through Friday or visit www.alstyle.com and click on 'Recalls' at the bottom of the page for instructions on how to return the product at no cost.
  6. Upon returning the garment, you will receive a $10 Alstyle gift card per recalled bodysuit.
  7. For additional questions, contact the CPSC Hotline at 800-638-2772.
