Daimler Trucks North America is recalling 4 units of the 2026 Freightliner Cascadia Fifth Gen truck because the compressed natural gas (CNG) fuel line was installed incorrectly. This routing error allows the fuel line to rub against and damage the vehicle's wiring harnesses and brake lines. DTNA has already inspected and repaired the affected trucks by rerouting the fuel lines as necessary, free of charge.
Damaged brake lines can lead to a loss of braking function, which increases the risk of a crash. Additionally, if the fuel line itself is damaged by chafing, it could leak gas and increase the risk of a fire.
Inspection and rerouting of the CNG fuel line.
All vehicles have been remedied.
