Summary

Daimler Trucks North America is recalling 4 units of the 2026 Freightliner Cascadia Fifth Gen truck because the compressed natural gas (CNG) fuel line was installed incorrectly. This routing error allows the fuel line to rub against and damage the vehicle's wiring harnesses and brake lines. DTNA has already inspected and repaired the affected trucks by rerouting the fuel lines as necessary, free of charge.

Risk

Damaged brake lines can lead to a loss of braking function, which increases the risk of a crash. Additionally, if the fuel line itself is damaged by chafing, it could leak gas and increase the risk of a fire.

What You Should Do

  1. This recall involves 4 units of the 2026 Freightliner Cascadia Fifth Gen truck equipped with compressed natural gas fuel systems.
  2. While the manufacturer reports that all affected vehicles have already been inspected and repaired, owners may verify their vehicle's status by contacting Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA) customer service at 1-800-547-0712.
  3. When contacting the manufacturer, please refer to DTNA recall number F1021.
