Summary

Nova Bus (US) Inc. is recalling approximately 514 of its 2015-2019 LFS and LFS Artic transit buses because the passenger seats may not be properly secured. Specifically, the attachment hardware beneath the rear wheel well passenger seats may have been incorrectly installed, which can allow the seat to completely detach from the bus frame. Owners are advised that Nova Bus will inspect and replace the seat hardware as necessary, free of charge.

Risk

If a passenger seat detaches from the frame, it will fail to properly restrain a passenger during a crash, significantly increasing the risk of serious injury. Because of this critical safety risk, owners are advised not to drive these vehicles until the repair has been completed.

What You Should Do

  1. Stop driving this vehicle immediately and park it until the recall repair is completed.
  2. Identify if your vehicle is affected by checking for 2015-2019 Nova Bus LFS or LFS Artic transit bus models.
