Summary

Daimler Trucks North America is recalling 22,271 Western Star 49X and 47X trucks from model years 2020 through 2026. A stud connecting the battery to the starter at the frame rail may have been installed incorrectly, which can cause an electrical short circuit. Dealers will inspect the connection, replace damaged cables or loose hardware, properly tighten components, and apply dielectric tape free of charge.
