Keystone RV Company: Travel Trailers Recalled Due to Fire Risk from Incorrect Window Shade

Summary

Keystone RV Company is recalling approximately 33 of its 2024 Crossroads Sunset Trail travel trailers, including models 20SS, 253RB, 258RD, 272BH, and 330SI. These vehicles may have a window roller shade incorrectly installed too close to the stove, which can allow the material to touch the burner. Dealers will remove the improper roller shade and install a safe mini blind at no cost to the owner.

Risk

The window shade can come into direct contact with the stove's burner during use, which significantly increases the risk of a fire inside the trailer. While no injuries are mentioned in the report, this defect creates an immediate fire hazard when cooking.

What You Should Do

  1. Identify if your vehicle is one of the affected 2024 Crossroads Sunset Trail models: 20SS, 253RB, 258RD, 272BH, or 330SI.
  2. Check the window located near the stove to see if it is equipped with a roller shade rather than a mini blind.
  3. Contact an authorized Keystone RV dealer to schedule a free appointment to have the roller shade removed and a correct mini blind installed.
  4. For more information or to ask questions about this recall (reference recall number 24-454), contact Keystone customer service at 1-866-425-4369.
