Summary

Villa International is recalling 35 pedestals and seat anchorages (part number 400004) used in certain vehicles. A mounting plate on the pedestal may have been improperly welded, which can cause the plate to separate and the entire seat assembly to become loose or completely detach. Villa International is working with vehicle manufacturers to inspect and replace affected parts free of charge.

Risk

If the mounting plate fails, the seat could move unexpectedly or detach during travel or in a crash, significantly increasing the risk of injury to the occupant. Additionally, because these assemblies serve as seat belt anchorages, the seat belt may not function correctly during an impact.

What You Should Do

  1. Check your vehicle's seat pedestal and anchorage for part number 400004 to determine if your seating system is part of this recall.
  2. Contact Villa International customer service at 1-888-707-7272 to discuss the recall and coordinate an inspection.
  3. If your vehicle was produced by a manufacturer that uses Villa International seating, you may also contact your vehicle dealer to see if your specific unit is affected by this equipment recall.
  4. If an inspection confirms a missing or incorrect weld, Villa International will replace the pedestal assembly free of charge.
