Summary

Nissan North America is recalling 37,003 of its 2025 Kicks vehicles because the certification labels may list the wrong weight ratings. Some SR trim models with 19-inch wheels may also have labels showing the incorrect wheel size. These errors can lead to the vehicle being overloaded or the tires being filled with the wrong amount of air. To fix this, Nissan will provide corrected labels for free, either through a dealer installation or by mailing them directly to owners.

Risk

An overloaded vehicle or improperly inflated tires can make the vehicle harder to control and significantly increase the risk of a crash.

What You Should Do

  1. This recall involves 2025 Nissan Kicks vehicles, specifically including the SR trim level models equipped with the optional 19-inch wheel package.
  2. Owners can visit an authorized Nissan dealership to have the corrected certification and tire labels installed on their vehicle at no cost.
  3. Alternatively, owners may wait for replacement labels to be sent by mail; Nissan began mailing these notification letters and replacement labels on May 27, 2025.
  4. If you have questions about whether your vehicle is affected or how to install the mailed labels, contact Nissan customer service at 800-647-7261 and refer to recall numbers PD136 and PMA47.
  5. Call the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 888-327-4236 (TTY 800-424-9153) or visit www.nhtsa.gov for further information.
