Summary

Mack Trucks, Inc. is recalling 59 of its 2025 model year LR, Granite, and Pinnacle trucks. These vehicles are equipped with Composilite EXS20 steerable lift axle suspension assemblies where a specific part, the tie rod assembly ball stud, may have been improperly heat-treated during manufacturing. This defect can cause the part to fail and potentially separate from the vehicle. Mack dealers will inspect and replace the tie rod end assemblies free of charge.

Risk

If the ball stud fails and separates from the truck, it can become a road hazard for other vehicles and cause the driver to lose some control, significantly increasing the risk of a crash. No incidents or injuries have been reported to date.

What You Should Do

  1. Identify if your vehicle is one of the 59 affected 2025 Mack LR, Granite, or Pinnacle trucks equipped with a Composilite EXS20 steerable lift axle suspension.
  2. Contact an authorized Mack Trucks dealer to schedule a free inspection and replacement of the tie rod end assemblies.
  3. If you have questions, contact Mack Trucks customer service at 1-800-866-1177 and reference recall number SC0468.
