Jayco, Inc.: 2024 Motorhomes Recalled for Inadequate Rear Axle Lubrication

Summary

Jayco, Inc. is recalling approximately 82 motorhomes from the 2024 model year, including the Jayco Granite Ridge, Solstice, and Entegra Coach Condor, Expanse, and Expanse LI models. These vehicles may have been manufactured with an insufficient amount of rear axle lubricant, which can cause the axle bearings to overheat and seize. If your vehicle is affected, a dealer will inspect the rear axle and replace the bearings or the entire axle assembly if necessary, completely free of charge.

Risk

Insufficient lubrication can damage the rear axle bearings and cause them to seize, potentially leading to the wheels locking up while driving or the driveshaft separating. This can result in a sudden loss of drive power or cause the vehicle to roll away if it is parked without the parking brake engaged, significantly increasing the risk of a crash.

What You Should Do

  1. Check your vehicle's registration or manufacturing label to confirm if you own a 2024 Jayco Granite Ridge, Solstice, or Entegra Coach Condor, Expanse, or Expanse LI motorhome.
  2. Always engage your parking brake when the vehicle is in park to prevent a potential roll away while awaiting inspection.
  3. Contact Jayco customer service at 1-800-283-8267 to schedule a free inspection at an authorized dealership; refer to internal recall number Ford 24V-102 or Jayco recall 24V-158.
  4. For additional information, you may contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153) or visit www.nhtsa.gov.
