Summary

General Motors is recalling approximately 151 vehicles, including certain 2023-2024 Chevrolet Colorado and 2023 GMC Canyon trucks. These vehicles may have a front seat belt buckle attachment bolt that was not tightened properly, which can cause the seat belt to fail during a crash. Owners should take their vehicle to a Chevrolet or GMC dealer to have the left and right front seat belt buckle bolts tightened for free.

Risk

If the seat belt buckle bolt is loose, the seat belt may not properly restrain a passenger during a collision, significantly increasing the risk of injury.

What You Should Do

  1. Confirm if your vehicle is affected by checking your vehicle's make and model: 2023-2024 Chevrolet Colorado or 2023 GMC Canyon.
  2. Locate your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) and visit www.nhtsa.gov/recalls to see if your specific truck is part of this recall (GM recall number N242453720).

  4. Call the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153) if you have additional questions or concerns.
