Summary

Forest River, Inc. is recalling approximately 331 of its 2024-2025 Viking and Clipper travel trailers. The roof rack hardware on these trailers may not have been tightened properly during manufacturing, which can cause the rack to detach from the roof while the vehicle is in motion. Forest River dealers will inspect and tighten the hardware for free to ensure the rack is secure.

Risk

If the roof rack detaches while you are driving, it can fall into the roadway and become a serious hazard for other drivers, significantly increasing the risk of a crash.

What You Should Do

  1. Identify if your travel trailer is affected by checking if it is a 2024-2025 Forest River Viking or Clipper model.
  2. Contact any Forest River dealer to schedule a free inspection and tightening of your roof rack hardware.
  3. If you have specific questions about your vehicle, call Forest River Customer Service at 269-467-6604 and reference recall number 121-1844.
  4. Contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153) or visit www.nhtsa.gov for additional information.
