Summary

Rocky Mountain ATV/MC, Inc. (RMATV) is recalling approximately 900 Tusk 2Track Adventure rear motorcycle tires, size 150/70B-18. These tires were manufactured with an improperly cured tread layer, which can cause large sections of the tread to unexpectedly separate from the tire body while in use. RMATV will provide owners with replacement tires and a cash value debit card to cover the professional mounting and balancing costs at no charge.

Risk

If the tire tread detaches while the motorcycle is in motion, the rider may experience a sudden loss of vehicle handling and control. This significantly increases the risk of a crash, potentially leading to serious injury or death.

What You Should Do

  1. Locate the size and model information on the sidewall of your rear motorcycle tire to confirm if it is a Tusk 2Track Adventure tire, size 150/70B-18.
  2. If you identify an affected tire, contact Rocky Mountain ATV/MC (RMATV) customer service immediately at 1-800-966-1852 or via email at recall@rockymountainatv.com to arrange for a remedy.
  3. Follow instructions from RMATV to receive your free replacement tires by mail.
  4. Use the provided cash value debit card from RMATV to pay for the professional mounting and balancing of your new replacement tires.
  5. For further information or questions regarding this safety recall, contact the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153) or visit www.nhtsa.gov.
