IMMI Recalls Harnesses Made for Polaris, Can-Am, and Kawasaki UTVs Due to Injury Hazard

Summary

IMMI is recalling approximately 162,000 SubZero 4-point and Click6 6-point UTV harnesses sold under the Polaris, Can-Am, and Kawasaki brands. These harnesses were either pre-installed in Polaris RZR models from 2015 and 2017-2020 or sold as aftermarket accessories for various Kawasaki, Can-Am, and Polaris UTVs. The harnesses may be missing critical stitching at attachment points, which can cause the restraint to fail during a crash; seven instances of missing stitching have been reported. Consumers should stop using the affected harnesses immediately and contact an authorized dealer for a free inspection and replacement if necessary.

Risk

The harnesses may have been manufactured without essential stitching at one or more attachment points. If a crash occurs, the weakened harness can fail to restrain the occupant, significantly increasing the risk of serious injury or death.

What You Should Do

  1. Check the label on your harness for the brand name (Polaris, Can-Am, or Kawasaki), the IMMI part number, and the manufacturing date to see if it matches the affected list.
  2. Immediately stop using the recalled SubZero 4-point and Click6 6-point harnesses until they have been inspected by an authorized dealer.
  3. Contact an authorized Polaris, Kawasaki, or Can-Am dealer to schedule a free inspection; if the harness is found to be missing stitching, it will be replaced at no cost to you.
  4. For more information, contact IMMI toll-free at 877-255-4205 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET Monday through Friday, or visit imminet.com/recall.
  5. Call the CPSC Hotline at 800-638-2772 if you have additional questions regarding this safety recall.
