General Motors, LLC: 2023 Cadillac and GMC Vehicles Recalled for Illegible Tire Size Labels

Summary

General Motors is recalling approximately 24 model year 2023 Cadillac XT5, XT6, and GMC Acadia vehicles because the vehicle certification label located on the driver’s side center pillar (B-pillar) may be illegible. This label contains critical tire size information that, if unreadable, could lead to the installation of incorrect tires on the vehicle. Dealers will replace these labels with new, legible ones free of charge to ensure owners have the correct safety and maintenance information.

Risk

If the tire size information cannot be read, owners or service technicians might install the wrong size tires on the vehicle, which can negatively affect vehicle handling and increase the risk of a crash.

What You Should Do

  1. Identify if your vehicle is affected by checking your model and year: this recall includes certain 2023 Cadillac XT5, 2023 Cadillac XT6, and 2023 GMC Acadia vehicles.
  2. Locate the vehicle certification label on the driver's side B-pillar (the center pillar between the front and rear doors) and check if the tire size information is readable.
  3. If you own one of these vehicles, contact a Cadillac or GMC dealer to schedule a free replacement of the vehicle certification label.
  4. For further assistance, Cadillac owners can contact Cadillac customer service at 1-800-458-8006 and GMC owners can contact GMC customer service at 1-800-462-8782, mentioning GM recall number N222381690.
  5. You may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153) or visit www.nhtsa.gov.
