Summary

Hyundai Motor America is recalling approximately 51,587 Tucson vehicles from model years 2022-2024 that are equipped with an optional Mobis tow hitch wiring harness. The wiring harness may have been installed incorrectly, which can allow water to enter the control module and cause trailer light failure or an electrical short circuit. Dealers will install a protective cap on the wiring at no cost to owners.

Risk

Moisture accumulation in the wiring control module can cause an electrical short circuit, which significantly increases the risk of a fire. Owners should park their vehicles outdoors and away from buildings until the repair is completed to prevent fire spread.
