Summary

Indian Motorcycle Company is recalling approximately 6,315 FTR 1200, FTR 1200 S, and FTR 1200 Rally motorcycles from the 2019, 2020, and 2022 model years. The coolant junction on these motorcycles may leak hot liquid while the vehicle is in operation. This defect was identified by the manufacturer and dealers will replace the affected coolant junction with an improved part free of charge.

Risk

If the coolant junction fails, hot coolant can spray directly onto the rider, causing burn injuries, or leak onto the rear tire, which can cause a sudden loss of traction and lead to a crash.

What You Should Do

  1. Check if your motorcycle is one of the affected models: 2019-2020 and 2022 FTR 1200, 2019-2020 FTR 1200 S, or 2020 FTR 1200 Rally.
  2. Contact any authorized Indian Motorcycle dealer to schedule a free appointment to have the coolant junction replaced.
  3. If you have questions regarding this recall (Indian recall number I-22-04), contact Indian customer service at 1-877-204-3697.
